It is impossible to live in the San Francisco Bay Area and ever get bored, especially if you love the natural beauty of the outdoors. Despite the fact that I've been living in the area for nearly two decades, there are still a million lovely spots left to explore for the first time. I finally checked Lands End off my to-visit list! I had wanted to see the historic Sutro Bath ruins for years, and they did not disappoint. What a gorgeous spot on the San Francisco coast, and what a gorgeous day to experience it. I had one of those infrequent, wonderful, and vivid moments where you can clearly imagine a moment in history that came much earlier than your own life. On a more serious note, imagining turn-of-the-last-century San Francisco is always fraught with the horrors that ensued during the earthquake and subsequent fires. Sutro Baths are nothing more than ruins, but the breathtaking seascape remains.
