The pencil skirt is a wardrobe staple that flatters every figure across the decades. I love them! During winter, I especially love wearing tweed and herringbone skirts and jackets. I purchased this gray pencil skirt secondhand and had it tailored. I love that it has slits up both the back and the front; it's sexy and doesn't restrict movement while still keeping that traditional pencil silhouette.
One of my daily wear staples is my arsenal of trusty cardigan sweaters. I just adore layering them over everything from shift dresses to turtlenecks to sleeveless tops. Just like the pencil skirt, the cardigan sweater is an item that will withstand the test of time in any closet. I own cardigans in lots of different colors, knits, and styles. It's one item you can wear three out of four seasons nearly every day! Maybe I'll divorce Sergio and marry my cardigan sweater collection.
I spent the better part of last spring looking for a nice patent nude heel, and finally settled on this pair from Ann Taylor. I wanted something I could wear to work as well as on the weekends, and this pair fit the bill. Nude and black heels in classic shapes (pointy, round, or almond toe) won't ever go out of style. And the versatility! My gosh! Wear them with your jeans and your ballgowns, too.
Remember this black fedora? I got it on Black Friday, except not in a stampede right after eating turkey. I ordered it online, and I love it. It has been in heavy rotation since it arrived. It transitions easily between feminine and masculine looks, and I like styling it both ways. This is another classic wardrobe item that has easily withstood the test of time. If you don't have one already, seriously consider investing in one. Mine is the County Line model from Goorin Bros. and I can't speak highly enough of the style and quality. So good!
Happy weekend, everyone!
