All the Wools and Leathers

I'm a big fan of warm weather, and that narrative we proclaim about the joy of bundling up for winter only jazzes me for a few weeks at the start of the first cold snap.

I find myself reaching for my comfort clothes thereafter, and mostly that's how I survive, sartorially speaking, until spring, with the notable exception of THE HOLIDAYS when the dazzle and sparkle of it all kind of pumps some fashion courage back into me.

Let's be clear: comfort clothes aren't some embarrassing ex-boyfriend in my closet. I don't feel tragic at all (I don't even feel boring, in fact) when I reach for them.  I feel - you guessed it - comforted.

Give me all the neutral shades, give me all the wools and leathers, and let me gaze wistfully toward spring.
