Purple Silk and Leopard Coat

When you have three kids, you end up going on a lot of day dates. Let's face it, it's much easier to get someone to watch your children for a few hours during the day than to do the sacred dance that is the bedtime routine.  Anyone who has ever said, "my kids can fall asleep anywhere!" either doesn't have kids or is lying.

So, day dates it is.

I like to keep my look streamlined and simple but elevate my aesthetic using certain fabrics for going out during the day. I purchased this DVF silk dress secondhand, and I just love how versatile it is.  I have used it for work functions during both daytime and nighttime, and reached for it this time around to attend a symphony matinee.

And nothing elevates your aesthetic more easily than a quality pair of shoes.  I won't go out in a cheap pair, ever.  I don't even own any cheap pairs.  Sheesh, I sound like a snob! But seriously, save up for a single nice pair of pumps if your budget is small.  Great shoes make a world of difference. Classic silhouettes won't ever go out of style.  Hey, have you heard? I like to avoid the trends.

In the real world, silk gets wrinkly.
