I cannot look at this photoset without thinking to myself "it's the Sound of Music, California style!" Indeed, our hills are alive with the super bloom and I have no complaints whatsoever. Bring on the gorgeous florals, in real life, and in my new skirt.
I am head-over-heels in love with this wonderful, surprise find from Target. I am a strong supporter of buying new items that are classic, slow-fashion investments. Historically, I haven't been one to buy anything other than gym socks at Target. However, when I found this amazingly high-quality, ultra flattering, and classically styled skirt on the CLEARANCE rack it was love at first sight.
I'm trying to wear more yellow this spring, and more tea-length skirts. Check and check. I could tell this piece was going to be something I would reach for over and over. When classic style calls, no matter where, I answer.
The eyelet top is from the WhoWhatWear collection and I love the way it pairs not only with this skirt, but with just about everything in my spring wardrobe. It dresses up and down with equal ease, which makes it a great closet addition in my book.
Since I'm petite, I don't like my ruffles too ruffly. I feel I get overwhelmed by them, and lost in all the ruffle. This top has just the right amount of ruffle. I also eyed a great black slip dress from the WhoWhatWear collection, but it was sold out in my size. Maybe, just maybe, I'll surprise myself and make a return trip to see if it gets restocked.
How is your spring wardrobe shaping up?
