Keeping it Simple

The older I get, the more I appreciate simplicity.  I find my fashion sensibilities tending toward the "less is more" approach with every passing season. I don't make lots of purchases new, unless I feel reasonably confident that what I'm buying is something that won't go out of style for a long time. As far as classic style goes, denim anything is a pretty safe bet.

I have styled this denim piece as both a jacket and a dress. Although I'm featuring the dress styling here, I've decided I actually prefer it as a jacket, in large part for practical reasons. The closure up the front is snaps, not buttons, and when I wore it as a dress, I had some lowkey concerns that it might reveal me to the world if I moved too suddenly.  On the other hand, I really like how it looks as a dress, so perhaps it's worth the gamble.

Usually my husband is my photographer, but this is the third of three sets of photos (see the other sets here and here) I shot with my friend Jody (follow his inspiring Instagram here). I really enjoyed working with Jody and having a chance to bring a new visual perspective to my blog.
