Today, I'm turning the spotlight on my dear friend, vintage soulmate, and emerging desiner Meileena Bautista, of The Sartorial Muse. Meileena and I have collaborated quite a bit, and it was an honor to wear two of her original skirt designs recently in a shoot for her Bespoke Muse lookbook.
Meileena's designs are full of color, movement, and vibrancy, just like her personality. I've blogged many times about what a printaphobe I am, and I am completely in awe of how Meileena effortlessly pulls off mixing and matching her prints. I think she went easy on me here, and I feel totally at home and confident in this set, which also features a top by local designer Harumi K.
My favorite color in the universe, pretty much my entire life, has been lavender. Interestingly, I infrequently choose it for clothing. It's almost too precious or something. Whenever I do wear lavender, I have my happiest days. I should stop worrying and wear it more. For New Englanders, the urge to behave ascetically runs deep.
I wish it were possible to feel a photo. The weight and soft silkiness of this floral watercolor print is just incredible. Meileena, I want a set of pajamas in this fabric! And I will wear them day and night.
Here she is, the designer herself! Many thanks to Meileena for featuring me in two of her beautiful skirt designs for her inaugural Bespoke Muse lookbook. Shop Meileena's skirts through her
