Written in the Stars

I have GREAT NEWS!  You can just stop worrying and check your horoscope.  Actually - scratch that - your horoscope only gives you a little tiny bit of information.  What you really need to do is check your natal chart because that is where all the really juicy gossip about you actually lives.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I recently did my natal chart, and I am all in on the concept of letting the stars be our guide. Relax, everybody. I am still reliable Rebecca and you can still count on me for earth-based common sense. But come on! Astrology is really fun! And also, I think it might be right.

As it turns out, because I was born in a certain place on a certain date and at a certain time, I have a bunch of specific traits. We all do! I really like the idea that the stars kind of give us permission to just be ourselves. Why yes, I do come across as a little intense and I value organization and beauty over tact. Guess what? My husband loves wallowing in his own misery (haha, I am REALLY enjoying that one) and there is not much we can do about any of it. Because honest to goodness, it is written in the stars.

A professional astrologer who is also a licensed psychiatrist read me my natal chart. She told me lots of fascinating things about what it all means for who I am and how I behave as I navigate life. “But don’t take any of this too seriously,” she said. “Just try to go at every day the best you can.” Amen to that.
